Ruud Cornelissen started playing bassguitar in a popgroup when he was 13 years old; after doing this for about 10 years he began his career as a professional classical doublebass-player in the several Dutch Symphony Orchestras. Ruud got his Master Degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Holland), he played for 20 years in the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Hilversum (Holland). He is also busy as teacher for doublebass and bassguitar. For both instruments he wrote a method; ..Musical Instruction for Bassguitar..is published by the guitarmusic publisher ..Van Teeseling... He also composed a couple of pieces for doublebass, published by Donemus Amsterdam. This year he has recorded and released a solo-album, titled ..Short Tracking.., with the cooperation of a number of well-known Jazz musicians. The musicians are; Wayne Johnson-guitars, Marc Guillermont-guitars, Rob van Bavel-Fender Rhodes, Frans Vollink-fretless bassguitar, Carole Dreant-vocals, Lalle Larson-Fender Rhodes, Sebastiaan Cornelissen-drums/guitars and myself Doublebass, bassguitars and guitars.
