Way to Emmaus
This project is a bit of a departure for me from my previous CD's. About 5 years ago, I returned to the Catholic faith of my youth after having left it for evangelical Protestantism as a young teenager. 31 years later my re-discovery of this Church has been one of the greatest joys of my life. As an acoustic folk musician I wanted to express my joy in this journey using the same instruments I have used on my other CD's. Thus, you will hear original ballads using open-tuned guitars, bouzouki, mandolin, autoharp, bass, cello, violin, accordion and harmonica in simple but elegant arrangements. I have included a few classic Catholic hymns in the midst of my original songs. One of the songs Nicean Blues, was the number one video for over a year on Loved To Be Catholic video website. I have also included a new arrangement of my song Jewel of the Caribbean to call attention to the plight of our brothers and sisters in Haiti. This is not your father's 'Catholic folk mass music' so feel free to dive in and give a good listen to my perspective on the Catholic faith. All proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to the St. Simon and Jude Medical Clinic in Port-Au-Prince.
