My World My Rules
Roy'al Bio Robert Fleming., New York, USA. Fleming had an itinerant childhood, living in Brooklyn, N.Y at one point before ending up in Queens, N.Y. A talented baseball player, Roy'al opted instead to pursue music with his friends Orane and Rowland. Roy'al enjoyed a local underground hit in 2000 with 'Game', but despite this success he failed to persuade any major labels to offer him a recording contract. In 2001, Roy'al opted to pursue a solo career. The regional popularity of his singles translated into national success when Roy'ality, his debut collection, took over in the area and gave Roy'al a big buzz. Suddenly, While underground producers provided Roy'al with unusual tracks, Roy'al provided different styles that offered an interesting new angle with a different flow tailor made for the crossover urban market. The lyrics deviated little from the modern rap blueprint, encompassing crime music, gangsta music and party music, but the big radio friendly hooks on tracks such as 'Game' and 'Still Out' offered the real clue to Roy'al's unexpected popularity.
