Resurrection-Songs of Faith & Salvation
Ronnie Williams, born in August of 1954, was raised in the Masonic Children's Home in Alexandria, Louisiana from the age of about two years old until he graduated from high school in 1973. He attended Horseshoe Drive Baptist church and was influenced heavily by traditional Christian hymns from an early age. The songs he learned while growing up stayed with him throughout his adult life. Ronnie started taking piano lessons when he was in the fourth grade, and although his skill at reading music was slow and somewhat laborious, he did acquire a strong skill of playing 'by ear' as most people would call it. His self-development style of learning to play songs by using his knowledge of chord progressions and creative piano flourishes helped him in his creative efforts to become proficient in arranging and performing songs. Ronnie continues to listen to all styles of music today, which can be heard in small 'riffs' throughout his recordings. Ronnie dedicates this CD to his mother, Mary Evelyn, who enjoyed singing old hymns. Ronnie sincerely hopes that his music will bring joy to all who listen to his CD.
