Product notities

From 1993 ? 2005, Ron played bass and recorded four CDs with the Cincinnati-based High Street Rhythm Rockers, later known as Greg Schaber & High Street. They won numerous regional music awards and toured extensively between Chicago and Memphis. By 2005, his lifelong interest in spirituality, metaphysics, philosophy and personal transformation led to his certification as a Life Coach and Enneagram teacher and trainer. Today, Ron works with clients at the Conscious Living Center in Cincinnati. This change also prompted his interest in learning to play the singing bowls. Ron's debut recording project playing both the Tibetan and Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls is 'Lifting the Veil' (2008) - a collection of Enneagram meditations spoken by Ron and Deborah Ooten with keyboard, guitar and percussion accompaniment. For his debut solo music project, 'Open Heart' (Spiral Music 2009), Ron assembled a group of renowned musical artists from genres that span both ancient and modern cultures. The result - an inspired sound experience praised by critics as 'elegant' and 'joyful' - is now into it's second pressing. 'Open Heart' was added to the 'Echoes' playlist, the groundbreaking syndicated music program hosted by John Diliberto and distributed by Public Radio International. The 'Open Heart' video received the 2010 Bronze Telly Award for 'Best Online Video' out of a field of more than 13,000 entries. Esposito's second solo CD, 'We Are One' (Spiral Music 2011), expands on the musical ideas and discoveries he made recording 'Open Heart.' Returning musicians include Jim Feist (tabla) and Janice T. Sunflower (Native American flutes). They join John Ruzsa on Indian bansuri flutes and alto flute, Chris Comer on Fender Rhodes electric piano, and Eugene Goss playing percussion, alto flute and vocals. 'With the recording of 'We Are One', I wanted to explore an expanded harmonic and color palette. Playing with the Fender Rhodes electric piano and using the technique of striking the bowls for melody and rhythm helped to achieve this. I also had many requests for 'solo bowls' on my next recording and so they are featured in some solo contexts.' Ron resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. He performs in concert, at yoga and meditation centers, and for private events throughout the region. We Are One - Notes With the recording of We Are One, I wanted to explore an expanded harmonic and color palette with the Fender Rhodes electric piano, use the technique of striking the bowls for melody and rhythm and feature the bowls in some solo contexts. "Mbira" and "Shining Thunder" take on a suite-like architecture with shifting colors and textures enhanced with studio effects. I believe in using the studio as an instrument to help create sonic landscapes. These tracks have a spacious quality owing to Eno, Harold Budd and early Weather Report. The compositions became more fully realized in the editing and mixing process harkening back to the way Miles Davis made recordings in the late '60's and early '70's. "Rain" and "Spider Woman" are good representations of what the performing group sounds like over the past two years. A rhythmic component with the bowls has developed that is a nice counterpart to the spacious "stirring" of the bowls. "Jungle Prayer" is another example of using the studio as an instrument. Multiple vocal and percussion tracks are blended as a tapestry playing out on the "field" of the bowls. The track is akin to "sonic shamanism", a trip through the elemental Soul. I enjoy the ruminative sound of wooden flutes. The emphasis is on tone production and the soul quality of each note. This approach works wonderfully with the bowls. Slow moving sound that has a "centering" quality with an invitation to rest in the breath is at the heart of "Valentina". "Turiya" and "Some Truth For D" are solo bowls tracks that are reflective of meditation and ambient music. Many listeners have requested bowls music that I play during meditation sessions. I enjoy playing with ensembles as well as solo and on "We Are One" I have tried to strike a balance between the two styles of playing. At the heart of all the music on "We Are One" is the call to deep listening, bare attention in the moment, resting in the breath and an interior journey in consciousness. Much Love.
