After attaining a masters degree at Stonybrook University, Ron acquired a post graduate advanced Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling at Queens college. Ironically Ron's Social Studies teacher at P.S. 126 in Astoria Queens was Albert Shanker, past president of the Teachers Union. Ron started his career in education here at Walt Whitman High school in September of 1993. He held the position of Social Worker until he was excessed in 1997. He continued in this discipline in the South Country School District until June of 2001 before he returned to Walt Whitman High School. Ron has previously held positions as a director at the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Services, Supervisor of the Employee Assistance Program for the U.S. Postal Service, and several part time positions as a Clinical Supervisor in outpatient Rehabilitation Centers. He is was proud to be a member of the Delroys Do-Wop Group who record the hit song "Bermuda Shorts" which hit the charts when Ron was only fourteen years old. The group then recorded a succession of hits to include 'LOVE ME TENDERLY' which enjoyed the success of the TOP 20 on radio station WABC in New York. The Delroys have performed at such show places as the 'WESTBURY MUSIC FAIR', the world famous "APPOLLO THEATRES' 'RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL', 'STUDIO 54', 'TOWN HALL' and a host of well-known theatres across the country. The Delroys have shared the stage with such show business greats as Paul Anka, and the late great Bobby Darin. Ron is now an active member of the Del-Vikings vocal group which recorded number one hits "COME GO WITH ME" and, WHISPERING BELLS. They have recently performed at CEASARS PALACE IN Atlantic city and frequently appear at THE WESTBURY MUSIC FAIR. Ron decided to enhance his musical career by doing solo engagements. He also fine tuned his musical expertise by attending the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. These added abilities enabled Ron to produce, arrange, write, and perform his own musical compositors. Ron has recently produced two new C.D's in which he performs all of the selections, "A WORD TO THE WISE" and "WAKE-UP CALL.
