Double Blu Moon
From a weekly jam session in a smoky dive bar to opening for B.B. King, ROMAGOSSA BLÚ has been entertaining south central Washington state with their unique style since 2002. Their music fuses a wide variety of genres, from folk blues to Latin reggae, telling stories and myths in English and Spanish, fueled by a dynamic rhythm section, sizzling sax, singing acoustic guitar and tight vocal harmonies. The band features singer-song writer Steve Cary on guitar and lead vocals, Doug Wagner on tenor saxophone, percussion and backup vocals, Cuco Martínez on bass, percussion and backup vocals, and Bob "Animal" Williams on drums. With influences ranging from mid-sixties folk and rock to classical choral music to classic Afro-Cuban jazz, ROMAGOSSA BLÚ mix it all plus more for a tasty sound that's as if Robbie Robertson and The Band, Los Lobos, and Ozomatli were jamming, with McCartney and Simon swapping lyrics with Manu Chao, with Michael Shrieve on drums and Carlos del Puerto on bass, while Boots Randolph and Gato Barbieri sit in on sax.
