One Tripp One Time
This is Roger Tripp's (7th) CD, yet it's the first one he didn't record in Nashville using studio musicians. He played rhythm, acoustic & electric lead guitar, & used seven current or former band members. After the first month being available to the public, the reviews from radio DJ's and his loyal fan base has been that they love this CD better than the ones he recorded in Nashville. Of the (13) thirteen songs on the CD, Roger penned (8) eight of them, he's now recorded (74) seventy- four songs in his musical career and of those (74) seventy- four, he's written (55) fifty-five (74%) of them. If you like the classic Country sound of the (60's & 70's), you'll love this CD. The title cut, 'One Trip,One Time' he wrote with Bob Wills in mind (King of Western Swing) even though it isn't about Bob Wills. Speaking of Bob Wills, on this album he had James Holly play bass guitar on (3) three cuts. James Holly is the son of Joe Holly, who was Bob Wills' fiddle player for over (20) twenty years. He also included an old Ernest Tubb song, 'Soldier's Last Letter' & an old 'Lefty Frizzell / Whitey Shaffer song, 'That's The Way Love Goes' & put his own touch to them. Roger's rule of thumb in writing, singing, and recording is; it may not be a gospel song so to speak, but it will always be something that he's not ashamed for his parents and children to know he's recorded and Roger wants the traditional country music fan to know there is still artists who write, play, record, perform, & love Traditional Christian & Country Music!
