Animals Get the Blues Too
Roger 'Rozzy' Osborne is a Guitarist, Vocalist and Songwriter, (born in Indiana 1952) who's dedicated his life to helping and caring for animals. Osborne and his wife Donna got their first dog together... he took the dog, who he found on a country road where someone had dumped her out. Donna was pleased and they named her Woof. The rest is history on their long journey of having and taking care of animals, even some that did not belong to them. They have owned and rescued an uncountable number of cats and dogs over the last 37 years. They moved to Florida from Indiana in the early 80's. The Humane Society of Broward County held an annual event called 'Walk for the Animals' which Donna did the walk and took a friends dog the first year and then their own dog the following year and future years. Donna got Rozzy involved and he started collecting money and did the walk for 15 years. Being a business owner gave Mr. Osborne the opportunity to have met a lot of people who were happy to donate to the cause year after year. Their dog Murray, who was adopted from the Humane Society did the walk with him. Murray had been rescued from an animal collector in Miami. He was one of the lucky one's to get out. The Osborne's adopted him and the people at the Humane Society started calling him the lottery dog (because he found a forever home). Murray was a therapy dog for 2 years who appeared on the cover of Pet Supermarket and also went to a black tie affair with some very prominent guest. He has more trophy's than Roger & Donna have shelving for. Beloved Murray passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago and unless you are a real animal lover, you most likely wouldn't fully understand the effect it had on both Donna and Roger. Although they had to put down a lot of their pets over the years, with each one it just kept getting harder and harder. When he was 52 years old Roger picked up a guitar and started learning how to play. He was initially inspired by the Church group that plays at the Flamingo Road Church in Pembroke Pines, FL. Osborne is primarily self-taught, and dedicated up to 8 hours a day 7 days a week the first year practicing. That's now 2-3 hours a day. Roger has since retired. So in 2008, with the help of a few musician friends, he started production on his debut CD. The result is a hot CD jam-packed with some of the hottest Blues in a long time. The material on this set is all original compositions, written by Osborne and others. The CD is getting rave reviews all across the board and is a must-have CD for all animal lovers as well as the average Blues fan and music listener as well. Roger 'Rozzy' Osborne is a talented artist who, with the help of his friends has created a timeless CD that is a must-have for all animal lovers and music fans alike. A large protion of proceeds from this album will go to the Humane Society to help as many animals as possible.
