'Lyric and music provide a wonderful means of expression to share the faith, hope and love that constitutes who I am.' So says Roger Batin, shortly after completing his long awaited sophomore album entitled 'Still'. This newly finished CD is a follow-up to his 2002 debut 'Who I Am.' Comprised of ten original compositions and two cover songs, it is the continuation of a musical journey about Roger's life that touches on the very core of his being- his faith. When asked why he wrote an inspirational CD, Roger says, 'I see a lot of pain and brokenness in people's lives on a daily basis. As a Christian musician, I'd like to convey to the listener that God desires a personal relationship with them and longs to make them whole." The result, "Still," is a candid look at Roger's life-father, husband, bible school teacher and every day man- through eyes of faith. Roger has created an eclectic mix of material that reflects an appreciation for various musical styles. To achieve this diversity of sound, Roger has called upon many accomplished friends and musicians. Rock guitarist Darryl Murakami, gospel singer Wendell Salvador, blues/jazz guitarist Billy Webb Jr., country-fried blues axman Billy Webb Sr. and many others are heard on this disc. The end result is an uplifting and positive collection of anthems that invite the listener to meditate, contemplate and celebrate life as a child of God. In closing Roger states, "If these songs make you smile, laugh, sing or just feel closer to God, this CD was worth making.'
