Never Said Good Bye
For the past 30 years Robert R Patterson has served as a Quality Engineer for a large corporation. This experience has allowed him to see the world and experience people of many different cultural backgrounds. It also allowed him to see injustice and watch young people become corrupted by power and politics. These experiences have served as the basis for many of his songs. As a songwriter Robert R Patterson strives to help listeners escape their own problems and experience emotions and feelings through the songs. Listeners have commented on these feelings which compel them to listen to the words. The songs can be as simple as the smile on a little one, or as complex as life itself. Robert R Patterson has been a musician for his entire life. His composition style has been strongly influenced by impressionist artists like Monet, or Renoir. Over the years he has played classical, flat top, and electric guitar. He has also played French horn, piano, and organ. His vocal experiences include Madrigal, renaissance and small a-cappella ensembles. He has also been a vocal soloist. His instrumental music has been compared to Scott Joplin, or Aaron Copeland. Folk songs have been compared to Eric Clapton, or John Prine and yet most people say that the songs are truly unique. This makes comparison to other artists difficult. Never Said Good Bye is his second effort as an independent artist. The songs represent a wide range of styles. The songs have been arranged around the theme of loss and recovery. Written in memorial to a 24 year old whose life was cut short, this CD is meant to help the listener deal with the loss and then move on in their life.
