Pieces of Jazz & Rag
This album has been recorded with memories as a fan of jazz music performed in New Orleans in the thirties and the forties. Rob was playing the piano in two dixieland bands in the early sixties and picked up the flavor of this type of music by listening and studying the great masters in New Orleans - like Jerry Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbeck etc. A close friend - Tony Earls - who was born in New Orleans in the early forties and lived his childhood as a neighbor next to the Louis Armstrong family, gave great support in putting the album sequence together. When Tony tasted the material he named the title of each and every song based on his child hood memories.
