Tone Without Tension
Rob Huffman was born in California, but raised by his Texan parents in Massachusetts. He began creating music as a child, marching in parades as a fifer with local minuteman groups. He then started to explore all styles of folk music and learned to play the whistle, flute, and mandolin. When he picked up the guitar and started to sing his own songs, Rob infused his music with a healthy dose of humor. One of his songs, 'More Than a Friend (I Need a Friend with a Truck)' caught the ear of National Public Radio's 'Car Talk,' who aired the song across the United States. Dirty Linen Magazine has written of Rob's 'skill and taste' as a musician, and Metronome Magazine has said: 'Not only are his lyrics loads of fun, but his playing is excellent to boot!' Tone without Tension is Rob's debut CD. The Boston Irish Reporter described it's unique and accessible mixture of traditional tunes and original songs as 'a great musical journey and a whole lot of fun.' Rob plays at clubs, coffeehouses, dances, and festivals throughout New England.
