Creativity, cultural awareness, and storytelling are elements Hip Hop has always looked for in the 'next' great MC to come along. RiZion lives and breathes these elements throughout his debut album 'RiZiometry.com'. Influenced by Hip hop Icons such as LL Cool J, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Nas, Lord Finesse, Common, and a host of others, RiZion believes it is important to know who paved the way for the next generation of what the world knows as the MC.' I think it's crazy alot of rappers today don't pay homage to who inspired them'. RiZion was born in Bronx, NY but moved south to GA when his mother decided to follow her Dream as a R&B/Jazz vocalist on tour. By The age of 12, RiZion and his mother relocated to the DC Metropolitan area and it was there that RiZion grew closer to music as his mother would take him to her gigs as she performed with the likes of Chuck Brown, Mint Condition, Wynton Marsalis, and many others. 'Being around all those musicians when my mom was performing at such a young age made music apart of who I am. It was never something I wanted to do, it was something that was inside me waiting to come out.' Currently, RiZion is preparing to begin promotion for the release of his debut LP, 'RiZiometry.com' digitally on Itunes, Digstation, and CD Baby, along with a limited amount of manufactured CD's that will be sold in the streets of Baltimore, DC, and Virginia. To Promote the CD, RiZion will begin with an E-zine called 'Block to the Barbershop' which is an outlet to help give exposure to independent musicians, models, barbers, and stylist. 'Block to the Barbershop is my baby, it's something I have been thinking of doing for while now. Most Barbers and Stylist want to own their own shop while most singers and rappers want to own their own music studio or record label. It's just alot of us don't know how to get that initial exposure to help make the dream a reality'. Through a chance meeting with Atlanta based Mult-Platinum recording artist Creo-D of the group (Duice), famous from the single 'Dazzey Dukes' in the early 90's, RiZion began studying the dynamics of Bass and Miami style party music that Creo-D helped make famous in the south. ' Rizion is a lyricist. Out of all the rappers I know I put him in the top five I heard. And I heard a lot. I just wanted people to be able to Party with him'. Creo-D began to show RiZion the techniques of engineering and production that led to the creation of the platinum song 'Dazzey Dukes'. 'Without me meeting Creo-D I wouldn't be the artist, producer, or engineer I have developed into today. That's my dude'. RiZion's debut album 'RiZiometry.com', was inspired by his desire to pay homage to the Hip Hop MC and Hip Hop culture of the past to help bridge the gap to the Hip Hop MC and Hip Hop culture of today. ' I love Hip Hop, always have and always will. My goal for RiZiometry.com is to show people why'. The release date for RiZiometry.com is slated for Summer 2008.
