America-Winds of Change
Concerned about what is happening in America, a grandfather thinks back on his life - reminiscing about how the winds of change have blown throughout history - at times, stronger than others.... Over the years, he (and the country) have gotten through those times; gotten used to the changes (worked through them), and "made the best of it" - crediting the fact that both had good solid foundations upon which to build and grow (under the watchful eye of God). Growing up. Used to the hard times. Winds of change blew. War. (WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan) Used to fighting for freedom. Winds of change blew. Married and raised a family. Used to the American Dream and the retirement lifestyle. Winds of change are blowing again - they are getting stronger and stronger. He is worried and afraid for himself, his family and his country. But he is ready to stand and fight for what he believes. (Lines are being drawn in the shifting sand.) He's not sure he will get used to what will happen if things continue to move in the direction in which they are currently headed. He calls himself and those in his age group (both men and women) "Roosters" - they are "awakening" from their retirement "roosts" and are starting to be a voice to be heard and reckoned with....
