You Do It for Me
Rita Hardt's musical journey began early in life with a love of the piano, growing up in small towns of Georgia and Alabama. After moving to Houston, Texas - one 'girls night out' would change life as she knew it. Rita discovered her voice that fateful night, after joining a girlfriend and her band on stage. The crowd went wild and Rita was hooked. The rest, as they say, is history! Rita's singing career introduced her to many genres of music but her 'heart' has always been in country music. Rita made a decision to take action to fulfill her dream -- to record the music she loves! After a lengthy search for original material and a year in the recording studio, Rita Hardt arrives on the country music scene with the release of her debut CD 'You Do It For Me'. The extensive selection process concluded with Rita's choice of ten powerful songs written by Nashville and Texas songwriters. Additionally, she recorded three covers, two from 'mainstream' music, whose arrangements have been brilliantly 'countrified'. This 13-cut hit features the diversity of Rita's country style, with a flare towards a more 'traditional' sound, reminiscent of a Nashville past. Her small-town upbringing, a love for mom's Patsy Cline records and the bluegrass-gospel music of her Smokey Mountain family reunions are some of the influences that form the basis of Rita's vocal style featured on 'You Do It For Me'. Rita's ambition to pursue her dream is leading her to the road of success. The country music fan longing for more pedal steel and fiddle playin', will find pure satisfaction in Rita Hardt's debut release,'You Do It For Me'!
