Product notities

Honkytonk swing music recorded June 4-5, 1984 at Studio Fromentel, Conches-en-Ouche, France. Enjoy some classics including Pistol Packin' Mama, Deep Water, Buffalo Gals, and more, done up 'The French Way,' (but in English!). Featuring Red Knuckles, Wendell Mercantile, Waldo Otto, and Slade. Who are Red Knuckles & The Trailblazers? Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers was a band that traveled in the back of the touring bus of legendary bluegrass band Hot Rize, and occasionally spelled their employers on stage. The foursome (Red Knuckles, Wendell Mercantile, Waldo Otto, and Slade) played 40's and 50's country as well as you might expect from people who had mostly listened to the same jukebox for most of their lives. That jukebox, at the Eat Cafe in Wyoming, Montana, is where Red and the boys first met Hot Rize and agreed to leave their home to pursue fortune and fame. The 'fortune' part notwithstanding, the 'Blazers did become famous for their original brand of entertainment, featuring band choreography and Wendell's 'take-off' guitar with fringe to match his outfit. The band took pride in offering for sale such products as Red Knuckles flyswatters, 'I'm a Knucklehead' bumper stickers, and a hard-to-find song album, 'Red Remembers the 60's (In His Own Style)'. As for Hot Rize: The eclectic Colorado progressive bluegrass band came together in the late 1970's and were named after the secret ingredient of Martha White Self-Rising Flour, the product Flatt & Scruggs promoted early in the 50's amd 60's. The band members were Tim O'Brien on lead and harmony vocals, mandolin and fiddle; Pete Wernick on banjo and harmony vocals; Charles Sawtelle on guitar, harmonies and lead vocals; and Nick Forster on bass and vocals. Forster also became the group's emcee. They are approaching their 30th year in the bluegrass history book. After not performing for three years following the death of original member Charles Sawtelle, the band regrouped in 2002 with Bryan Sutton added on guitar. Hot Rize has consistently delivered it's high-energy, soulful, and unique sound to fans old and new. Though many years from it's full-time touring period of 1978-1990, Hot Rize has kept it's legend growing by delivering first-class music and entertainment as only it can.
