ALIENTAME is the result of living 8 years in Chile from 1979-1986. We went to Chile so that our children could be more international. I did not speak Spanish in the beginning but I played viola in a local orchestra where we spoke the international language of music. With a background of piano and guitar, I thought it might be easier to teach the Baha'i Mapuchi Indian children the prayers and meditations of Baha'u'llah and 'Abdu'l-Baha if they were singing. ALIENTAME was born. The music blossomed into orchestral arrangements but because of the return to the States and raising four children, the music took a back burner. With technology and better finances, ALIENTAME finally because a finished reality in 2002. Four pieces in English, seven in Spanish, ALIENTAME means 'Inspire Me'. The music is classical based with new age tones featuring the voice of Patricia Haulley who consented to singing for me after I suffered five surgeries on my vocal cords. I went from a birdlike 2nd soprano to a sandpaper alto. The new voice does add an interesting blend for the harmonies to Patty's voice. Born and raised in this country (Ohio) but became a world citizen when I embraced the teachings of the Baha'i Faith in 1970, I now look at planet earth as my country and all of it's citizens my family. I continue to compose music with a second CD, CONSCIOUS PEACE, to be released the summer of 2003. Lyrics again from the writings of the Baha'i Faith and all in the English language.
