Thunder in the Jungle
'Thunder in the Jungle, ' by Rasheed Ali and Rain People is one of those rare recordings that successfully captures the African experience in the Americas through music. Unlike many attempts by other artists, 'Thunder in the Jungle' encapsulates the essence of the variety of cultures found on the African continent and relates them to how they have developed in the Western Hemisphere. With their commitment to honoring the ancestors, Rain People's 'Thunder in the Jungle' adds a modern spin without compromising age-old traditions. This is a beautiful and thought-provoking work.
