We're Ragtag and we're from Dayton, Ohio. Joey Beach plays guitar and sings and Robert Rutledge plays drums. We formed in the Fall of 2010 when we decided we wanted to play more loudly and more recklessly than our other band, The Electric Fetus. So we immediately got down to playing with each other and writing songs. When we had a few written and practiced well enough, we recorded a demo EP on a 16-track recorder. It had 5 songs and we used it mainly to promote ourselves in the area. Meanwhile, we kept practicing and writing more songs. In January of 2011, we decided to take the songs we had been practicing and make a full-length album. At this time we had about 8 complete songs ready to record, so we were going to be cutting it close. We also recruited our good friend and knowledgeable musician Alec Snead to help us in mixing and producing this album. So we got to work in mid-February of 2011. We essentially locked ourselves in Robert's basement for a week doing the initial tracking. We recorded everything on the same 16-track recorder and then exported it all onto Alec's computer to mix it. We spent a couple days mixing the album with Alec and thought we were finished. There were a few minor glitches that needed to be fixed before it could be mastered and sent off to get made. So the album went on hold for 4 months as we sorted out scheduling conflicts and decided what actually needed to be fixed. Then, in late-May and early-June of 2011, we finally sat down and finished it for good. Joey took it home and spent a night mastering it and then somehow we conjured up the money to get it made. Now, after much frustration, hard work, and patience, it is available to you - the listener. So we hope you enjoy it. Thanks.
