Water Over Road
The 10-song CD was co-produced by Lynn and Ron Flynt and mixed by Mark Hallman. Noted Austin musicians who played on the sessions include guitarist Landis Armstrong (Paula Nelson Band), violinist Warren Hood, steel guitarist Kim Deschamps (Charlie Robison, Blue Rodeo), and cellist Brian Standefer (Alejandro Escovedo), among others. The album explores themes of renewal and restoration on songs like the energetic and redemptive lead track, "New Filter," her light-hearted trot down a country-rock road, "Just Not Right," and the mesmeric and mystically tinged "In A Dream." Her gift for evocative reflection is heard on such numbers as "Monnitoff" and "Mercury Exit." Lynn's contemporary folk-rock sound is expansively flavored by splashes of Americana twang ("Later in the Night"), light-symphonic loveliness ("Paths Yet Untaken"), and more.
