Social Side of Midnight
Pushcar's 2nd release is a fascinating and engaging album with no filler and an artist's dedication to each and every track. After Pitchfork called their first CD 'a damn good album,' and CD Consumer pronounced 'in an ever so slightly more perfect world, Pushcar is the next big thing,' expectations were high. Pushcar delivered: 'There is no easy way to pigeonhole this band, as they're impossible to categorize and sound like nothing you've heard before.' -Shotgun Review 'The Santa Monica-based duo (Jim Saunders and Chris Farrell) manages to write compelling music with some rather mature lyrics - particularly on "Julio," the CD's strongest track.' -Indie-Music.com 'Wow. The most solid, enjoyable indie album I've heard all year. With any mid-size label backing at all, 'Elevated' would be a #1 hit, and 'Farsighted' and 'Helium' would be radio staples.' -Left On 'An album that starts comfortably with the sound of a brook tickling the senses and suddenly explodes with a bass lick that draws the listener right in. But not too comfortable, as the second track delivers a left hook right to the senses. By the time you've gone through all 13 tracks, it's hard to believe this was mostly recorded in an in-house studio.' -Studiogeekdom.com.
