Chip Homer- Drums James McDermott- Guitar, Vocals Scott Krenn- Bass Abby Krizner- Guitar,Keyboard Pulse is a young band from the Pittsburgh PA Area. The band has been together for 4 years has a large following of both young and old, and has performed in many venues including Nick's Fat City, Rosebuds, Market Square, Oregon Grille, Flashbacks, and The Phoenix. Pulse is listed in the City Paper 2001 Music Guide and the 2002 Pittsburgh Arts and Entertainment Guide. The musicians have been trained in classical, jazz, and contemporary music, and play multiple instruments. Pulse plays new, classic, and original guitar rock. At their shows they cover performers such as Lenny Kravitz, Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stone Temple Pilots, Buffalo Springfield, Elvis, and many more. Pulse debut CD entitled 'Flatline' was recorded at Red Door Records, Kensington MD. And engineered/produced by nationally known jazz guitarist, Chuck Underwood (Patti LaBelle, Lester Bowie, Weather Report, etc.). Chuck is a former professor at American University but now teaches at the Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins University. Chuck was able to collaborate with these young musicians to create a diversified album of original guitar rock, ballads and straight forward rock 'n' roll with a blues and jazzy edge. 'Flatline' is appealing to both the sophisticated or young pop listener. We are confident the record will stand up to the test of time. 'Pulse Rocks Out On FLATLINE', and 'Pulse's songs boast a contemporary feel, with McDermott's vocals, in particular, recalling such post-Eddie Vedder heavyweights as Creed and Staind'. -Ed Masley Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Pop Music Critic, 1/10/02 'Pulse has the look of a pop boy band but they're extremely talented musicians fronted by Pittsburgh's hottest female lead guitarist, playing original, modern and classic guitar rock'. -Pittsburgh City Paper 3/28/2001.
