Tomorrow or Something
Privatized Air is an original three-piece alt/rock/punk band from San Diego, CA. Formed in 2009, they have been playing venues from NYC to Denver, El Paso, and various places in Southern California. They have released three CDs to date. The drum stylings of Nicky Vasquez can be compared to none. He carries the weight of rock on his whole being as he punishes the drums for all the things he has been punished for. Fronted by singer, guitarist, and songwriter jonnyQ, their songs evoke feelings of happy betrayal, horny destruction, hopeful disappointment, anger and love for pain and depression, questions better left unasked, and above all, a clinical cynical worldview nurtured by the nature of the f***ed-up planet on which we live. Talented and impressively anti-anti, militant bassist Laura Smashley joined the war effort in mid-2010, bringing killer grooves, feminism, and poor personal hygeine to the equation. Privatized Air does small tours that are self organized and self managed down to the very last detail. They are looking for a band who needs an opening act to take on a bigger tour, and they know the best thing to do while waiting for that is continue to work and tour. And see the world. And not wait. Both Albums were released on Hold My Beer & Watch This Records, a small anti-corporate DIY label from San Diego who only does punk acts, and only the hardest working punk bands, with help from Guerrilla Tactics Inc. a subsidiary of Goldplex Ltd. a branch of the prestigious RIAA, whose proud parent company is News Corp Inc.
