Your Plans Vs. Mine
Your Plans vs. Mine is the offering of more than a years' worth of planning, writing, arranging, polishing, recording, and mastering. Thick with creative lyricism, this freshman album has the staying power of a more notable sophomore or junior album. The songs are arranged in a semi-worship fashion as this work is meant to be played through in it's entirety. When Prelude started working on Your Plans vs. Mine their intention was to make a product that was easily marketable, but what they ended up with was so much more. Not only do the lyrics cut deep down to the soul, but the arrangements, themselves, were refined until they complimented the lyrics in such a way as to move your spirit into a deeper sense of worship of the Father. The group strives to keep God at the forefront of their lyrical writing and pushes His name and glory through their performances. Lora Meier said this of Prelude To Paradise, 'I think everyone was impressed not only with the groups' talent, but with [their] heart for ministry and the way [they] connected...' It is Prelude's mission to connect not only through their songs, but in complete immersion into the community around them. Your Plans vs. Mine shows that we all 'have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God' but that where there is grace, there is forgiveness. Not only does this album give it's listeners a direct line with our Heavenly Creator, but it also stirs within people the want and desire to strive to become clearer images of Him. Your Plans vs. Mine gets down on every level of society from the muck and mire to the bourgeoisie to give them a story of God's love through clearly expressed and readily relate-able situations. 'The main purpose of Prelude To Paradise (P2P) is spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through songs and worship. We persistently seek God's will in our lives as well as God's vision for the group. That vision is ever growing and changing, but the fact remains the same that we are here to spread truth where there are lies, spread light where there is darkness, and do so in a unique yet contemporary style of music' says Prelude of themselves. This expresses not only their self-image, but also the image and portrayal of God Almighty within the lyrics of this freshman album Your Plans vs. Mine.
