Possible is a band born out of more than 10 years of songwriting. It's diverse sounds stretch from it's belief in it's title, that Anything Is. Although each song defies simple genre definition, often containing multiple styles, the record follows a few threads that weave it's disparate parts together. These threads come from the belief in struggle, growth and redemption through work, pleasure and sorrow. Sonically, it challenges a listener at times, and can be unforgiving in it's refusal to be nailed down. But after listening a few times, the record sticks together through it's commitment to a deep questioning. Simple answers may be challenged by it's varying moods, and at times Anything Is... can be introspective. But at it's core, this record contains a drive to make new sounds by pushing and tugging at tradition, and focuses it's gaze on motion and forward progress. Begun as a studio project by Daniel Perlin, Possible was created with a focus on live performance. On Anything Is... drums (Alex Posell and ismail Lawal), upright bass (Tunde Oyewole), cello (Brent Arnold) and a guest vocal by Becky Stark join forces with dp on guitar, bass, sax and electronics. Live, the band shape changes, and it's trio of Drums, Electronics/keyboards and Guitar/Voice form it's core. Anything Is... was recorded over the course of 6 years written and produced in Providence, New York, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and spaces in between. The project finally assumed it's current form in Brooklyn, New York, and will be playing shows beginning in February 2010.
