State of Nefarium
The Platte River Killers have been crushing the Denver metal scene and captivating audiences since 2003. With influences including the Deftones, Tool, and Lamb of God, Their uniquely positive brand of metal is a force in which to be reckoned. On July 6, 2007 they released their second full length album State of Nefarium at the historic Bluebird Theater. PRK has since formed their own label, Metalbot Records, and are hard at work writing more songs. PRK's energetic live performances have inspired a steady and loyal following. Their fan base extends well beyond the typical metal scene, and a familiar line they hear at shows is, "I'm not much of a metal fan, but DAMN I loved you guys!" Their shows are always inspiring and intense... and who knows when someone just might show up in a straight jacket? The band has rocked some of the hottest venues in Denver, including the Bluebird Theater, Herman's Hideaway, Larimer Lounge, and the Cricket on the Hill. They pioneered Tuesday Rock Nights at historic Ziggie's Saloon, a blues bar, and are familiar favorites on many other legendary stages throughout the Denver metro area, PRK has also proved themselves on the road with two successful tours under their belts. This band is dedicated to their music, and they are here to stay. The State of Nefarium tour will take them throughout the country in the Fall of 2007.
