Karl Dabritz and Jack Bowman met while recording Hanley Page's first album at the Vintage Live studio in 2000, Both had known Hanley and played with the band for some time, but that was their first work together, Since then, they worked on all Jack's solo albums, Karl's Vintage live recordings and work in the studio with other artists, they formed a group in 2001 called Retrofit with Scott Savage and recorded 4 studio albums and a live CD before disbanding in 2005. Karl and Jack found it easier and more productive to work together in writing and recording and along with friend and drummer Darren Rottino they formed Phosphorus in 2006. This first year they recorded 3 Cds; Sea of Desire, Just an Ordinary Man and Common Sense; Darren was unavailable for Common Sense so Jes Martinez filled in for him. In 2008 The band reunited and recorded The Key. They are working on a project in 2009 that is yet unnamed and will be available in late 2009 or early 2010.
