Philip Carr-Harris-the new kid on the block! He is not new because he is only 12 years old, but because he is just arriving into the territory of mainstream American music. Arriving, rather uniquely-from Russia; or actually, he is another one of those Canadians, but this Canadian is coming to America via Russia. Philip's mother is Russian and three years ago Philip moved with his family from Toronto to Moscow so he could study music. He studies at one of Russia's best-known Performing Arts schools and is a student of one of Russia's most respected singing teachers. Philip is a real singer, and his popularity is due to his ability to sing, and not thanks to synthesized auto-tuned vocals that can make almost anyone sound good these days. It is indeed a rare occurrence when an 11 year old boy with a beautiful voice with serious vocal training gets together with an experienced LA producer to produce a professional album. Philip was a finalist in the prestigious New Wave Junior Song Competition (Moscow, December 2008), an event televised Russia-wide, and it was there that he met up with Marc "MDoc" Williams, an LA music producer who offered him the chance to record some songs in Los Angeles. MDoc assembled a talented team and by the summer Philip had recorded 12 tracks (9 original songs and 3 covers), and the result is this debut album- "Philip". This may be the first time you have heard Philip, but it is not going to be the last; he is not the kind of artist that will shoot to stardom, crash and burn, and disappear from sight. Now that Philip is on the American scene, he is here for a long stay.
