Product notities

Formed in 1979, The Pfister Sisters have devoted the last 3 decades to delivering 3 part vocal jazz to the city of New Orleans. During that time, we've shared the stage with the Neville Brothers, Vet Boswell (of the Boswell Sisters), Maxene Andrews (of the Andrews Sisters), Kermit Ruffins, Ernie-K-Doe, Banu Gibson, Leigh 'lil Queenie' Harris, Marcia Ball, Henry Butler, Linda Rondstadt, Jimmy Buffet, and, most recently, the Dukes of Dixieland. This latest CD is a little bit of departure from their previous recordings. After their post -Katrina return to their beloved City, convention business (the payroll bottom line for most New Orleans musicians) had departed and the sisters found themselves working mostly in their "core-4" formation, with piano as their only accompaniment. As other musicians returned to town, they would often pop into the Pfisters regular Wednesday night performance, sit in for a bit, then head on to their own gigs. Piano "sister" Amasa first suggested doing a CD that "sounds like we sound now" and thus, Puttin' It On was born. Primarily vocals and piano, with touches of sousaphone, violin, guitar, and ukulele. "Any one of these three could hold a stage in her own right. What they accomplish is dazzling. Don't miss them." - Provincetown Magazine 'Their voices melt together, their band really kicks, and they get the audience smiling and swaying in the timelessness that is the joy of music." - Radio Free New Orleans Jazz Fest review 'one of the best examples of heritage still at Jazz Fest' --Gambit Weekly.
