Product notities

This American power pop rock 5 song EP is full of melodies and hooks that stay with the listener long after the songs have ended. Formed in 1989 while founding member Joe Stevenson was still in high school, People Who Must took their name from a Carl Sandburg poem. In fairly short order, the band became a hit with their hometown crowd, being voted Best Performing Band two years running in a local reader's poll, and earning the song of the year with their song One Thousand Miles on the local modern rock station beating out Pearl Jam and R.E.M. The band soon signed to a small West-Coast indie label and released their first album, 1995's The Road You Travel. Produced by Jeff Tomei and John Keane (Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic), The Road You Travel excited music critics nationwide. One writer in North Carolina wrote, 'People Who Must know their rock and roll, and they've applied their knowledge beautifully to construct a recording that's as strong a piece of rock and roll as has been done in the past 30 years.' A West Coast writer wrote, 'Intelligent songs with driving rhythms and swirling roots-rock arrangements.' People Who Must was poised to begin their journey through the music industry halls. In 1997 People Who Must released their second album, Lost Wire Transfer. Once again, singer Joe Stevenson, guitarist John Kolbeck, bassist Tim Arbisi and drummer Russell Jarrett joined forces with Jeff Tomei to deliver an album that exhibits their growth as songwriters and musicians. Lost Wire Transfer offers more complex themes and musical arrangement. The first single, 'It Fades', was quickly embraced by modern rock radio stations across the country. From the eerie sounds of Salt Breeze, to the straight rock of So Hard, this sophomore effort builds on the foundation already laid by People Who Must. The adage, 'out with the old, in with the new' holds true with the Augusta, Georgia based pop rock band People Who Must. The 26th of November 1997 marked the end of their recording commitment to Los Angeles based indie label Creativeman Disc, leaving People Who Must free to pursue the next stop on the seemingly never ending road to success. What they chose was to once again work with producer/engineer Jeff Tomei (Matchbox 20, Smashing Pumpkins) and produce their best work to date, 'Never Ending Road To Success'. Determination and pure love for music is what has keep this band thriving throughout the 90's. The release of their new EP 'Never Ending Road To Success', is sure to push People Who Must farther than ever before.
