Where to start. My dad was a jazz pianist, and mom played violin. Early on it was Dylan and the NY folk scene, The Beatles, Beach Boys and music of the 60's including the Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and Creedence. When the British invasion hit I really got into Zep, Pink Floyd, and Bowie. Currently everybody from Foo Fighters & Queens of the Stone Age to Jack Johnson and The Decemberists. Penguins on a Rock South has been an ongoing project for the past 2 to 3 years now. I've been getting together with various musicians in Nashville, LA, San Francisco Bay Area and So. Oregon trying to come up with some cool stuff. Influences are across the board as you can hear. I've been making records for the past 20 years and have produced and written with various artists and terrific writers in that time. I play guitar, bass and piano, but writing is the thing for me. I hope people enjoy the blend of Latin infused with rock and folk. I have had the great privilege of working with an amazing array of singers and players on this record. The same goes for all the talented engineers and tech folks that came to my rescue. Without them it wouldn't have happened. Also, hats off to the Oregon recording artist who helped design the past 2 CD's, Jonathan Jordan. So, this time, the penguins go surfing, visit some tropical islands, and keep falling in and out of love.
