Good for What Ails 'Ya
In 19th century America, patent medicine was a type of product sold from town to town by traveling musicians. It was designed to 'cure what ails you.' The Patent Medicine jug band enjoys and plays a wide range of American music from old-time blues to swing to contemporary country: from W.C. Handy to Fats Waller to Willie Nelson -- a dose of good time music to cure what ails you. Anchored by guitar, harmonica, and bass, the band has played at a range of social gatherings and in concert formats, including a concert at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music and annual performances at the Outsiders Art Fair in Michigan. Patent Medicine is MK Ness - vocals, Garth Taylor - guitar, Skip Landt - harmonica & Matt Dressel - bass.
