BIO "A New Life Rises From The Ashes"..... We were members of an already established Chicago band and had been discussing the idea of tying to find a way to better express our musical ideas. It was during this time that Outgrowth was unconsciously formed. After other members of the band left rehearsals, we stayed behind to continue to write new material. The music we were writing was clearly different then what we had been currently playing. After a few failed attempts to incorporate this new material into the existing band, we decided it was time for us to leave. As the newly formed Outgrowth, we set our focus on tweaking our sound and writing new material. The band spent a solid year writing new material and discovering our sound along the way. The process for the band was very therapeutic, allowing us to express and push ourselves artistically in a way we had not been able to in our previous band. Unfocused on writing material that would be considered marketable, Outgrowth forged a sound of it's own. As that year drew to an end and the remains of Winter faded with Springs arrival, Outgrowth emerged strong and polished. Having found our sound and ending up with enough material for 2 and half albums, we entered the recording studio. The band was offered a deal with an independent label but decided to self finance our debut album. Working with Raphael's past studio engineering and mixing experience, and the whole band's knowledge of pro level audio, we created our studio to record our debut album. Outgrowth made their august debut with a self titled album released by Records-Records in November of 2007.
