The project Ostinato was born in 1999 in Terni, were Andrea Belli live and works in his Worldbeat studio. Since the 80's Andrea Belli has always showed a special inclination for both acustic jazz and electronic music. In 2001 he recorded the first Ostinato's work called Worldbeat, that saw the participation of Rosanna Brandi as a singer and Lorenzo Fontana saxophonist and flutist, also co-writer of some of the tracks. Song X, which Andrea Belli considers as Ostinato's manifesto song, was recorded for the first time in this CD. In 2001, Ostinato set off for a series of concert with the American singer Wendy Lewis, their music began to be more and more appreciated. Right in this year the film-maker Gabriele Anastasio chose for his winning film "Fegatelli" ( winner of the Bellaria Film Festival) Ostinato's music as soundtrack and the Belli's music will be given a special mention. In 2002, the promising encounter with Ivan Iacobucci who immediately recognized the quality of the project and decided to produce with his label ( Hole Records) Ostinato's double Ep "'Billy and the Clouds" ( dedicated to the great jazz drummer Billy Higgins). This work was greatly appreciated and,for long, played on famous European radio such as radio 1 Norway, Solar radio, Gaia Live and applauded by Espen Wiik (No), Kevin Breadle, St John Da Zilva (UK) and many other Dj. In 2003, Ostinato starts working for another refined CD, Voices that will be produced in 2004, by the famous Italian label Venus. In 2005, Andrea Belli, together with Fabio Picchiami and Giacomo Anselmi start playing in Italy and in Europe with the famous American singer Amii Stewart, this is another important step ahead for this talented band. In September 2006, the latest appealing Ostinato's work " DR VINYL & MR BYTE" that see the Lisa Maroni, Fabio Picchiami and Giacomo Anselmi a quality trio for Belli's music concept. Thanks to this soulfelt, high-quality latest work Ostinato had the chance to play in some famous Italian festivals as Reggio Parma Festival (Parma), Musika nel Silenzio ( Siracusa), Poolparty ( Rome) and clubs La Palma ( Rome), Boca Barranca ( Ravenna), Zibaldone ( Perugia). Dr Vinyl and Mr Byte, was enriched by the collaboration of the American percussionist Karl Potter. About them: 'Billy & the clouds' (2003) 'Very good sound!
