Product notities

Okoye was born in Anambra State, Nigeria-West Africa. His musical endeavours began at a tender age, when he was involved in singing in the children's choral group in his local church. When he got into high school, he joined the high school choir/choral group-as he could not exist without music and singing-as 'There is an element of spirituality that comes from singing, music in general, which helps in dealing and coping with life'. That element of spirituality is what Okoye has embraced. He performed with various groups, including the school choir and drama team. In his senior year, Okoye earned the prestigious title of the school choir/choral group prefect. This award was giving for character, talent and dedication to the choir and to the rest of the student body. After high school, Okoye gained admission into the highly esteemed university of Jos, Nigeria to study Medicine. From childhood, he dreamt of becoming a medical doctor and desired to serve. His passion about serving is evident in his statement:'Life is all about giving, touching and making a positive difference in peoples lives. As a result of this earnest desire to make a difference, he and a few colleagues teamed up to form a Christian Charity Organization know as FRONTLINE INC- an organization dedicated to raising money for the welfare of the needy, motherless, handicapped and the less privileged in Africa. While in college, Okoye continued to perform in local functions- weddings, church events and show cases. He later joined and headed a Christian Praise Group called 'The Trinity Singers'. In the late 90's, Okoye moved from Nigeria to the United States to continue with his studies. It did not take Okoye time to realize that his main calling was in music and acting- As he expresses in his very touchy ballad 'Nothing is Impossible'. After completing a course in the Medical field, he realized that if he was to pursue his Passion, the time was now. He returned back to school and earned a degree in Commercial Music Management (CMM). While in college, Okoye was a lead vocalist in a Jazz ensemble and continued to perform in local functions and shows. His debut album is titled 'The Wave Of Change', a combination of smooth R&B,Gospel,Jazz and elements of Afro Soul mixed with World beats. In his soulful voice, Okoye expresses himself, his experiences, struggles, love life, spirituality and beliefs. He inspires and encourages us to believe in oneself, live at our very best and pursue our innermost desires. In listening to this album, you will discover the identity of this singer, songwriter and producer. To Okoye, 'writing music and singing is a way of life', the only way he knows best to express hmself and cope with life's obstacles.
