Shamrocks & Heather
Danny O'Flaherty-from Connemara- a well-known Irish musician, traveled all over the USA with well-known folk groups, playing in New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Settled in the D.C. area and decided to form an Irish folk group in Washington. Patrick O'Flaherty-Danny's brother- both played music in Ireland and England. Pat played with various groups in the D.C. area. Norrie Arnott- The third member of the group from Perth, Scotland. Norrie had been active in folk music there; he met the O'Flaherty Brothers in D.C., so they combined their talents, which blended into a very successful Celtic sound. The end result was this album- Shamrocks and Heather. The 'Bhoys' make regular appearances at Matt Kane's 'Bit O' Ireland' in Washington D.C. and onstage really 'ignite' their audiences night after night with their music, personality and humor. In a short time, Danny, Norrie and Pat have become a very popular group up and down the east coast, with offers from Chicago, New York and numerous other cities. 'You've heard the rest, now hear the best.' Matt Kane.
