LeTroy grew up in one of the most crime infested neighborhoods in Charleston, South Carolina. He, along with his younger brother, was raised by a single mother who endured years of verbal and physical abuse from her husband and male partners. LeTroy's biological father was in and out of his life, leaving him to turn to the streets for his identity. At the age of 12 he began using drugs, alcohol, and having sex. He was expelled from high school his freshman year. He dropped out of school at the age of 17 and turned completely to the streets, selling drugs for money. After realizing that he wanted more than what the streets could offer him, he gave his life to Christ at the age of 20. He later married his wife, Christina,( The Poet) at the age of 22. LeTroy was also the third member of the Gospel Hip/Hop group, Membaz Ownly. Membaz Ownly has traveled the southeast performing at churches, and all types of youth events. They have performed at the Bobby Jones Retreat, in Jacksonville, Florida, Holy Hip Hop awards, in Atlanta, and TBN, in Florida. They also had their hit song/video' I Ain't Neva' aired on BET, JCTV, The Word Network, INSP and local radio stations. They also had the opportunity to share the stage with Gospel heavy hitters, like Mary Mary, Marvin Sapp, Canton Jones, T-Bone, Grits, and the list goes on. The group later dissolved in 2009, but LeTroy's passion for the youth and music led him to establishing Off The Block Productions in February 2010. He owns his own recording studio where he writes, produces, and records his own music. His mission through Off The Block Productions is to utilize the influence of music and poetry as a tool to expose darkness and to encourage the youth and young adults to discover their God- Given purpose in life. LeTroy will endeavor to minister in Word and performing arts at schools, youth events, and churches across the globe while taking the gifts and talents of the OTB staff to the streets of the inner cities of America.
