No Origin is Politifunk. Politifunk: politically charged symphonic art rock, pop and funk. No Origin is continuing in the tradition of using politically provocative lyrics and innovative music to create a movement of the people for the people. No Origin's mission is to help along the rise of human consciousness of both music and mind. The San Francisco Bay Area based band has recently released their first full length album, Politifunk, which is poised to do just that. Politifunk harkens back to the 70s era of concept albums. Each song has it's own tale to tell while still being a single chapter in an epic story that needs to be heard. Tarik, the piccolo bass player and main song writer, and Moorea, the lead singer and vocal arranger, are the driving force of the band. The first song they wrote together, Sea to Shining Sea which is featured on Politifunk, was a purging of emotional frustration at America's initial occupation of Iraq. Since then, the full band has formed and the songs continue to reflect the feelings and perceptions, both pissed-off and optimistic, of the two artists. No Origin can help shape a new era of great music and social consciousness. The time is ripe for change. We're all looking for something to believe in, including the members of No Origin. It's time.
