Better Than Yesterday
Nicki Park's debut release, BETTER THAN YESTERDAY, is an ecclectic mix of Christian, Pop, and Country with a twist of retro. Nicki has worked alongside her producer, Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated, Patrick Andrew (PFR/Canvas Burning), and engineer, Gerald Fercho (Vertigo Studios-Phoenix), for the past year to surface the project. A classically trained pianist, Nicki grew up listening to a broad range of traditional country music, old church hymns and contemporary pop. Today her musical influences stem from a longtime appreciation of a wide variety of christian, pop and country artists. She used those influences to learn various styles of playing and singing which has musically brought her to where she is now. Nicki's album is a reflection of 'her life'. She has written these songs based on personal experiences. Her message is simply this: 'Overcoming adversity through faith.'. 'My prayer for this album is that the lyrics relate with the understanding that all of us have our rough patches and each deal differently with them. In knowing that 'with God, all things are possible', each day can bring about new positives. With a little bit of faith and a whole lot of prayer, our tomorrow's can all hopefully be a little better.' Nicki has launched this project into three new prospects of business and ministry. NP Music is her independent label and Gunner's World Music is her independent publishing company. Finally, with the establishment of Nicki Park Ministry, she will be able to continue doing what she feels called to do in motivational speaking, singing, and leading praise and worship for a variety of venues. Besides writing, recording and being active on her church's praise team, Nicki runs a musical education business called Northwest Valley Musical Arts. She and her teaching team offer a variety of music lessons to students ages 3 through adult. She is very active in stressing the importance of music education for children as well as being an outspoken advocate for abused children. As an abused child herself, Nicki has used music to overcome many obstacles. 'God saved me but music rescued me. It is very healing and has sustained me through many hurdles and emotional trials throughout my life. By passing on this gift through teaching and sharing my hope is that others might one day hear their song and find solace when needed the most.'
