See the Day
See the Day is the first independent release from New Voice Worship, the thriving music ministry of St. Louis-based New Voice Church. See the Day weaves together a variety of musical styles to present the listener with 15 inspirational songs rooted in scripture, and focused on lifting up the name of Jesus. The emphasis on bold instrumentation and sophisticated harmonies is apparent in songs like "Here I Am" and the John Mayer/Steely Dan tinged "Sing Praise". The signature guitar work with tasteful use of guitar leads is an ever-present refreshing homage to the Psalms exhorting us to praise Him with stringed instruments. Stylistically the influences are wide ranging, from the Derek Trucks blues infused "O What a Name" to the intimate "No Greater Love," worthy of comparisons to vintage Cold Play. Holding it all together are memorable melodies embedded into clever arrangements, producing an album that truly has something for everyone. More than just well-crafted worship, this album is spiritually challenging. It puts into focus the hope that is found in Jesus, reminding us to fix our eyes on something greater than ourselves. The purpose of this CD is to facilitate worship for those who know the love of Jesus, and encourage the sharing of His love with others.
