Another Season Gone
ANOTHER SEASON GONE: Composed, performed and recorded by Nelson Paiva in his home studio. From the Artist: I had started work on a CD that would celebrate the four seasons, but as work was started, my Mom became ill and passed away. It was then that I realized, life is in many ways like the seasons. Sometimes you have a perfect season and you don't ever want it to end, but it does, and you find yourself missing it. That perfect season never returns. That is what Another Season Gone is all about - Losing something or someone and never getting it or them back, but wanting it or them to be with you forever. 1. Another Season Gone - A song of remembrance, of wanting to go back in time, of wanting something so wonderful to continue without end. 2. Within Me - the part of me that is restless, yet calm, impatient and laid-back, the part of me that has finally matured. It is the part that fights with the child in me every minute, it is the part that refuses to give up. It is the part of me that holds hope, dreams and my passion for all things beautiful, and the things I will keep forever to myself. 3. Pachelbel's Canon 2005 - The famous Baroque masterpiece by Johann Pachelbel updated for this new century. Actually it is more than a variation, it is a deviation, and I hope Johann does not mind. 4. Wind Strut - The feeling of walking (or strutting) with a breeze on your back and sunshine on your face. 5. Downstream - Drop a flower (or anything that floats) into a small river and watch as it flows. It is much how we go through life sometimes. 6. Woman by the Waterfall - Composed while painting a friend's wife. It is the first time I ever played a mandolin. 7. Missing Mom - My cry of love, my shout, my scream that mom is no longer here. 8. Morning Mist - The misty haze that starts some mornings, and eventually clears, but before it does a certain beauty is seen as the water droplets refract the light making all objects seem surreal. 9. Circle of love - As it has been said so many times before, love is one big circle, the more you give, the more you receive, and it just keeps on coming around for more. 10. End of the day - This is it, when the day is over and you just need to wind down and relax, or take your last breath of air.
