Neil Hewitt was born on August 18, 1988 in Ames, Iowa. It was the fall of 2000, at age 12, that he discovered an interest in music, and began taking weekly guitar lessons. His choice of music, although different from his peers, was country western. He began singing his favorite country songs, and gave his first live performance in an 8th grade talent show. The response to that performance encouraged him to continue singing and songwriting, and has led to the current release of three original songs, which are included on his debut album. Many people say that Neil reminds them a lot of Ricky Nelson, George Strait, and Tracy Lawrence. This album is a mixture of some traditional country songs and some modern country sounds as well. But it is all definitely good COUNTRY music!!! 'Blue Eyes', 'Country Music Angels', and 'I Found it In You' are the three songs written by Hewitt on the album. Neil treasures every occasion to play with, and learn from, many talented musicians who he continues to meet. "Every performance for me is the best, it's more fun all the time," said Neil. The Nevada, Iowa native has performed at the Iowa State Fair and several community events around Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas including dances, oprys, festivals and rodeos, seldom turning down the opportunity to do what he loves...playing and singing.
