Nashville in Harmony is a quality citywide chorus that builds bridges between the GLBT and greater Nashville communities. It's our mission to use music to build community and create social change. Our most important values are the excellence of our performance and the breadth and diversity of our membership. We challenge ourselves to provide the highest quality musical experience, but in the context of enjoyment and inclusiveness. 'I wish I could tell you how remarkable this CD is - and this group of singers. Just producing a CD is a phenomenal achievement for a volunteer community group that is less than three years old, but even more remarkable is the quality of the sound they have achieved in such a short time - especially since most of the singers are not trained professionals, just people who enjoy singing, who enjoy being together, and who want to make a difference. What is truly remarkable is the group itself: the growth we have experienced, the spirit of community we enjoy, and the compelling mission that unites us. If you ask the singers about our rehearsals, they'll invariably complain about how hard we work, but they love it. They really want to exceed musically and you can hear the results. They'll also tell you about laughter and hugs and new friendships that feel like family. Nashville in Harmony is also remarkable in it's makeup: GLBT and straight standing shoulder to shoulder, singing together, working together, breaking down barriers. The most remarkable thing about Nashville in Harmony is our mission. The people you hear on this recording are audacious enough to honestly believe they can change the world by singing. It's a big dream, and it distinguishes them from other performing groups in Music City, and they are working as hard as they can to make it happen. This is our chance to change the world, and we have got to seize the day! Let's stand. Let's sing. Let's change the world. - Don Schlosser, Music Director, Nashville in Harmony, Spring 2007.
