Product notities

Boone of The Mystic Cowboys opened this last holiday season out in The Black Hills for The Kentucky Headhunters. The first song on this album, 'Cabin Fever' was written specifically for consideration by The Kentucky Headhunters for their next album which they are releasing this Spring. The other 18 songs on this album are other writings of Boone's (Daniel Johan Johnson) that also have a wintry season feel. The lyrics to the 19 songs on this album are as follows: ***Cabin Fever There's a fat brown Labrador trying to get out of the cold Layin' out by the wood stove he's getting old That storm would have ripped right through him Left three foot of snow behind But you can't let cabin fever wrap around your mind We danced round and round like swirling snow We danced round and round 'bout as fast as we can go Cabin fever's got a big hat on this town Cabin fever's takin' us down We danced round and round like swirling snow We danced round and round 'bout as fast as we can go Round and round like swirling snow We danced round and round 'bout as fast as we can go My bike's in the shed My woman's in my head My bike's in the shed My woman's in my head ***As it Snowed We talked for hours, hours and hours As it snowed, as it snowed The fire was perfect The wine was red and warm North wind whistled a lullaby in the storm We talked for hours, hours and hours As it snowed, as it snowed Grandma's quilt, woven squares and candlelight Soft yellow words Long love promises through the night We talked for hours, hours and hours As it snowed, as it snowed We talked for hours, hours and hours As it snowed, as it snowed We talked for hours, hours and hours As it snowed, as it snowed ***Cabin By Nemo Found your laughter in the closet Stacked behind your shoes You must have forgotten where you left it But it's something I could use It's snowing in the mountains You can smell it in the air There's a cabin by Nemo And I'd love to take you there Let's act like outlaw lovers That need a place to hide There's a smell of smoke in the pines And horses to ride It's snowing in the mountains You can smell it in the air There's a cabin by Nemo Please let me take you there Mountain sun shines on the morning snow Dancing colors in your heart Stoke the fire and go back to bed We ain't ready for the day to start It's snowing in the mountains You can smell it in the air There's a cabin by Nemo We can find laughter there Grab a couple books, skis and your checkerboard I can bring some candles and fixings for chicken noodle soup It's snowing in the mountains You can smell it in the air It's snowing in the mountains You can smell it in the air ***Corn Field Prayers I prayed in a cornfield last night Underneath the Januarys full moonlight I was walking with my dog Dropping teardrops in the snow I pray now wherever I go He was a blue-eyed boy beautiful and wild Parents should never have to lose a child Wind talks for me now Tells me things that I don't know I pray now wherever I go I pray now wherever I go The tsunami came and all angels had to fly To help all them souls into the sky Angel in my sleep he said he had to go He said to pray wherever I go I pray now wherever I go I pray now wherever I go ***Easy Blessings Spring is right around the corner One last snow in this go 'round Wind chimes are singin' and a dancin' 'bout a blizzard blowin' in at sundown I thought I'd walk along the willows And move my shadow through the trees An' count all my easy blessings An' scout out a rabbit from my knees It's easy to imagine As I move my shadow through the trees An' count all my easy blessings That you are right here with me It's easy to imagine As I move my shadow through the trees An' count all my easy blessings That you are right here with me It was easy to imagine As I move my shadow through the trees And I count all my easy blessings That you are right here with me ***I'm The Buffalo Weak sunlight filters down today my bootsteps puff the light snowflakes away I'm nursing back a vision I can't change I squint my eyes to get new colors into range pink explodes in front of my tired eyes the wind is winter blue and it cries cowboy I'm the buffalo cowboy I'm the buffalo I sleep inside the willows down the bank the river's low and the Army is to thank the ice won't hold me up very long I squint my eyes and hear and see my song pink explodes in front of my tired eyes the wind is winter cold and it cries cowboy I'm the buffalo cowboy I'm the buffalo ***Nemo Nightmare Cat cry came over the mountain In the cold air that's a long way to go Horses were restless and noisy But they calmed with the first sight of snow He went to split some firewood As the blizzard came crashing down It was blowing so hard and so heavy Immense, it covered all the ground The wind it ripped through the night Wind ripped through the night It snowed for nights and days And the horses were lost in the white Mountain cats they came callin' On the wind of the night They went out to fetch more firewood The blizzard was still crashing down Red blood in the white snow No horses to be found And the wind ripped through the night Wind ripped through the night ***Nights Turn Cold Nights turn cold Nothing you can do Nights turn cold Ain't nothing you can do Nights turn cold Baby don't want you I drink whiskey When I can't stand myself I drink whiskey When I can't stand myself Nights turn cold Sitting on a night shelf Door is open The door is closed Door is open That door is closed Nights turn cold She won't step out our her clothes I don't see right Cause a woman stole my eyes I don't see right Cause a woman stole my eyes Nights turn cold As I define my alibis Nights turn cold Nothing you can do Nights turn cold Ain't a damned thing you can do Nights turn cold Baby don't want you ***Sioux City Sue Revisited Friday night stockyard bars at Sioux City A blues band down at Rhonda's Speak Easy At the Cattlemen's bartender's smothering one of 5 customers Pretty woman drunk and so sad I think she may be Sioux City Sue Well my hand is broke from a fight I may have picked The stockyards have beat me again The fog from the river is a curtain for an actress Pretty woman drunk and so sad I think she may be Sioux City Sue I listen but the whiskey is waxing my ears She said nothing is pretty anymore The manure painted panels have given up their white Says that pretty woman drunk and so sad I think she may be Sioux City Sue I laid down in the snow and in my stock trailer I locked the keys in my pickup truck She found a blanket in her car covered me up as she left Such a pretty woman drunk and so sad I think she may be Sioux City Sue Sioux City Sue Sioux City Sue Ain't no girl sweet as my sweet Sioux City Sue ***Circle Song There's a frozen pond on the hillside That's lit up from the icy winter moon And there's a pickup moving slow Down the gravel road Snow plow ain't left him too much room There's a blizzard comin' You can feel it in your bones East wind blowin' it in Should be headed home You should be headed home Horses are white from the snow, not movin' The only dark is in their eyes Dog in the ditch is huntin' rabbit Catches a lame one and it cries There's a blizzard comin' You can feel it in your bones East wind is blowin' it in You should be headed home You should be headed home There's an ice shack on that small pond Smoke from a stove curls in the air They must be catchin' some big fish Or there wouldn't be no one there There's a blizzard comin' You can feel it in your bones East wind is blowin' it in You should be headed home You should be headed home You should be headed home ***Keep Your Soul Strong Count all the baby curls and the white snowflakes Have a small puppy, do whatever it takes Taste it like ice cream or smell it like the rain Hold it so tightly you cry out in pain Whatever you do, live life hard Play like you'll always draw the winning card Love long and never quit Keep your soul strong, that's most all of it Don't settle for walking if you want to run Stand up to a bully if it needs to be done Remember the fallen and play hard for your teams Climb all your mountains and echo all your dreams Whatever you do, live life hard Play like you'll always draw a winning card Love long and never quit Keep your soul strong, that's most all of it Keep your soul strong, that's most all of it ***Sweet Kiss Gimme that sweet kiss That I'm gonna miss That's wet and warm Like a log cabin in a snowstorm Let's have some red wine Take our sweet time Let the fires steam this place Feel it red hot on your face We don't have forever But I will never Forget the light In your eyes tonight Gimme that sweet kiss That I'm gonna miss That's wet and warm Like a log cabin in a snowstorm Gimme that sweet kiss That I'm gonna miss Gimme that sweet kiss That I'm gonna miss ***Wing and a Prayer There's frost on the windowpanes Snow blowin' under the door It's the second week in April Shouldn't be winter anymore My little bro's talkin' desperate Like he's gonna take out a bank I understand where he's comin' from Four-dollar fuel in his tank We're tryin' to fly around here On a wing and prayer My sweetheart is limpin' Oh she's got a bad wheel Got to go to six different appointments It's a medical referral deal Got two kids in college Thank God they're both tough Like to give them some spending money But around here there just ain't enough We're tryin' to fly around here On a wing and a prayer We're just tryin' to fly around here On a wing and a prayer ***House Lights Yellow The snow is coming and the wind is blowing You can hear it howlin' through the trees Ya keep the fire hot and you stay inside When the snow is past your knees House lights are yellow on the snow As I walk outside and hear the north wind blow The snow is coming and the wind is blowing You can hear it howlin' through the trees Ya keep the fire hot and you stay inside When the snow is past your knees House lights are yellow on the snow As I walk outside and hear the north wind blow The snow is coming and the wind is blowing You can hear it howlin' through the trees Ya keep the fire hot and you stay inside When the snow is past your knees ***Buffalo Blanket Girl She's out there running with the deer she's been living out in the woods for years in a teepee she stretched on her own she tends her campfire all alone she lives like her people lived one hundred years ago buffalo blanket to keep her warm from the North wind and snow Coyotes listen as she prays she fishes in the river on most days rabbit fur moccasins on her feet there's berries and greens she can eat She lives like her people lived one hundred years ago buffalo blanket to keep her warm from the North wind and the snow ***Hoot Owl A hoot owl snuck up on me yesterday Lakota legend says someone's going away sunshine brings us shadows before the North wind brings the snow she dances in the shadows pretends I don't know she ignores the angels she pretends I don't know A hoot owl knows some secrets from hangin' in the trees tries to send a warning he sees her on her knees sunshine brings us shadows before the North wind brings the snow she dances in the shadows pretends I don't know she ignores the angels she pretends I don't know she ignores the angels she pretends I don't know ***Dog Eat Dog It's all you can do Just getting on When you find bloody footprints In the snow at dawn There's no mistaking You're taken for a bump on a log When the cat's got your tongue And it's dog-eat-dog Roses are dead now And hanging on the wall And the words are all different now Since you took that fall There's no mistaking You've taken a long hard look at God But the cat's got your tongue It's dog-eat-dog There's no mistaking Words are taken as cliché Dog-eat-dog is the cat's meow today ***Woman's Intuition She's a well-preserved woman Who's fighting off getting old She likes pretty snowstorms She don't like the cold She believes in woman's intuition Men's tendency for lies So I better be telling her the truth When I look in her eyes She's a well-meaning woman Who don't like talking mean She talks good of other people Or she don't say a thing She believes in that woman's intuition And men's tendency for lies So I better be telling her the truth When I look in her eyes Well I better be telling her the truth When I look in her eyes ***The Wind Waits Soft sunrise pink on the mountains And the wind waits for you Sleepless eyes darkness in retreat And the wind waits for you But I'm leaving down the byways and the highways Down roads that have no names My love will linger like the snowflakes a-fallin' With no one to blame But the wind waits for you The wind waits for you Pine smoke rising sun on the shadows Still the wind waits for you I know you're coming I found wings And I can't wait for you I'm leaving down the byways and the highways Down roads that have no names My love will linger like the snowflakes a-fallin' There's no one to blame But the wind waits for you Oh the wind waits for you.
