Come with Me
My Brothers Banned evolved from a Thursday night community music gathering. Born in historic Mohegan Colony, local musicians met on an open air stage weekly to make music. The regulars often ended up playing old time, folk, blue grass and rock favorites acoustically. When the weather became cold, the hard core few met in a living room weekly; eventually writing material and honing a sound that's a blend of many styles. The banned takes influences from Jayhawks, Teenage fanclub, the Byrds, Gram Parsons, Uncle Tupelo,Whiskeytown, Ramones and the Meat Puppets, finding a balanced blend of acoustic instruments, electric and raw energy. All band members have roots in punk rock and then felt the gravitational pull towards American roots traditional music.
