Mrs Wainwright's 'Deadmans Pocket' comes complete with video clip to whet your appetite. Later 2006, the full feast. But, for now, quake to the mystery of 'Deadmans Pocket', swoon to the lovesick 'Dreams are Soft', ponder the brat in 'Story Writer' and feel the power of 'Oh Louis, My Louis'. This first offering from 'Mrs Wainwright' was recorded with Mick Thomas in his studio. The title song was added to and mixed by Craig Pilkington at Audrey Studios Richmond where the audio was mastered. The video was filmed and edited by Adam Moore (Evenmore) with artistic direction from Hannah Palmer (HUP design). The whole kit comes to you courtesy of CROXTON RECORDS. Trish and the lads will be back in the studio soon working again with Mick and Craig to put together a full length album...stay tuned. This is smart pop from a trio of experts. Pete's years of country lickin' combine with Shorties blues and Trish's americana roots history giving Mrs Wainwright a clear roots origin....and yet? Trish Anderson (Git) brings a taste of things to come with the introduction of sample soundwork along with burning electric guitars and sweet powerful vocals. 'Diesel' Pete McKenna's (Monogamous Dog) spent youthful years in the country music circuit and moved later to doing his own eclectic style of truckin' country which he brings with mad flair to Mrs Wainwright's sound. Anthony 'Shortie' Shortte (Collard Greens and Gravy) has accumulated a bizarre blend of things to belt creating a drum sound that ain't the same. In fact this stuff is different. From rockin' trash to tragedy by ballad, big rock anthems to country ditties and scratchy blues ... 'Mrs Wainwright' admits, embraces and flirts with fusion. Purists beware! Go on. Try it! At the core of Mrs Wainwright are great songs. Trish Anderson and Pete McKenna grab fleeting emotions that often have no name and articulate them for us. Anthony Shortte creates rhythmic atmosphere with understatement to match the songwriters' subtle power. Trish has that vocal intimacy that gently engages the listener and draws them into her world. Listen to Dreams Are Soft and you will know what I mean. Mrs Wainwright's debut ep is a highly crafted, highly original CD. Chris Wilson (Spiderman,Crown of Thorns) 2005 ...Trish Anderson writes great songs: sassy numbers with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and serious pieces too. ...Both ....droll wit and on the other hand...full of pathos. Tony Hillier, Rhythms 2003 'Trish Anderson is a great songwriter and I just love 'Deadmans Pocket', it's a wonderful record!' Jeff Lang 2005.
