Midnight in Virginia
The Morrison Brothers Band is a young, up and coming group from Washington D.C. Their sound is an original, soulful fusion of Pop, Rock and Country. The brothers are looking for ways to expose their original music to the masses, and are hoping to get picked up by a record label in the near future. Their music has a wide range of influences from Zac Brown and Citizen Cope to John Mayer. The Morrison Brothers are an excellent live band with a great deal of potential and commercial appeal. While the group is still new to the music scene and just beginning to promote it's music independently, it is only a matter of time before they are discovered by mainstream America. After gigging around Los Angeles for a few years, Truman and Willie Morrison finished school and moved back east to record their debut album 'Midnight in Virginia' in September 2009 with producer Eric Weinberg. Despite being released without any promotional help from a label, the album has quickly become a cult classic on Itunes and helped the band garner a large local following. The brothers sold out the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA for their record release party in late September. The album has already won a number of awards, including a first place finish in the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest for the song "Comin to Get Ya." Several of the band's songs have also seen airplay on local radio stations across the country. The Morrison Brothers continue to focus on writing and recording new songs independently as they work towards releasing their second album in the coming months. The band will be hitting the road indefinitely in the summer of 2010 in hopes of broadening their fan base and sharing their music with the world. They have a charismatic lead singer, and a talented young band that sounds like they've played together for years. The band is excited for what lies ahead, and really appreciates the love and support from all of it's fans.
