Hands of Time
Modesto Roy & the Catfish Boys are a Northern California based band fronted by Singer/Songwriter Roy Blair. Roy's songwriting is influenced by his early appreciation of rock artists such as Neil Young and the Rolling Stones, particularly their acoustic catalog of music. His interest in country music really took hold when he discovered Dwight Yoakam and Steve Earle. Not only did Roy relate to the songs these artists performed but they also fit his vocal style and inspired him to found the Catfish Boys along with guitarist Jim Paras. When it came time to writing 'Hands of Time' all of these influences were thrown into the mix creating a 'roots' oriented album of music with strong musicianship by the Catfish Boys featuring: Electric/acoustic/slide and pedal steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, piano, organ, harmonica, and percussion.
