Milo Deerings All Acoustic Christmas Jam
There are few who can lay claim to being well versed in such a range of instruments as the pedal steel guitar, fiddle, dobro, mandolin and guitar; Milo Deering is one of those few. Milo began playing when he was eight years old. His parents, both self taught musicians, gave him lessons on piano, ukulele and harmonica. He played guitar in various local bands throughout his junior and high school years. Following graduation he began a study of classical guitar under Robert Guthrie at Southern Methodist University. Milo taught privately for fifteen years while learning to also play pedal steel guitar, fiddle and mandolin. Milo's affinity for his native home of Little Rock, Arkansas and adopted home of Dallas, Texas are apparent in his musical style. Strongly influenced by a variety of music including traditional country, bluegrass and western swing, Milo's gifted hand can be heard on many singer's and songwriter's albums, most notably Lee Ann Rimes, Jack Ingram, Steve Holy, Trout Fishing in America and Slim Whitman. Milo has appeared as a member of Blue Country (Ms. Rimes band) on The Tonight Show, The Today Show, The Grammy Awards, The Billboard Music Awards, Nashville Now, The TNN Awards and The View. As a member of Jack Ingram's 'Beat Up Ford Band', he has appeared on Austin City Limits and in the Sandra Bullock film Hope Floats. As well as being the consummate session musician, Milo is also a creative talent in his own right. Working with Tom Faulkner Productions, he co-wrote and played the famous Motel 6 radio spot for which he received a Clio award. He wrote the score for the National Geographic special, The Snow Monkeys of Texas. He recorded a solo album titled Swing That Music! And has collaborated with his wife, Rachel Goetz, to produce two albums of original music with their band, Rachel Goetz & Ghostown. Milo currently writes for several music production companies as well as his own original musical projects. He also enjoys time spent with daughters, Joanna, Scarlett & Savannah.
